MDRF Seeks Wider Collaborations with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Nigeria

MDRF Seeks Wider Collaborations with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Nigeria

In its renewed efforts to build synergy and work collaboratively to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially SDG 1 and 4, the Michael Dato Relief Foundation (MDRF) reached out to some MDAs in Nigeria. This is in a bid to partner with them and bring succor and relief to the less privileged in the society. First was the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management. All the registration formalities were done while the ministry’s staff also came to inspect our operational office in Abuja.

After the successful assessment of documents and our office, we were given a provisional registration by the ministry and asked to regularly report all our activities to them. This according to the team leader, Mrs. Nonye Osuji will ensure we get the monitoring, information and assistance needed as an NGO with them. The Foundation had earlier received a full registration with the Ministry of Budget and Planning.

The Foundation also applied for registration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). As at the time of compiling this report, the officials from NDLEA led by Etuka Chizoba (CSN) have visited our operational office in Abuja and verified all necessary documents required for registration as an NGO.

Efforts are also being made to register and partner with the Federal Ministry of Health as well as the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
It is hoped that the successful registration with these MDAs as well as other related organizations will boost the Foundation’s access to vital information and other assistance needed to effectively carry out our set objectives.
